Kelly family set up P J Murray (Haulage)
In 1973 the Kelly family set up PJ Murray (Haulage) Limited. The business began taking on small to medium size haulage projects, to eventually take on some of the largest ground remediation projects across Birmingham. The business evolved to take on demolition projects and become Demolition Services Midlands. In 1998 the company changed its name to become DSM Demolition Limited.
Significant growth
The business grew significantly with family members taking on distinct roles within the business and the business evolving to expand its expertise in decommissioning and demolition.
Property portfolio expansion
The demolition business expands into ground remediation and the family expand’s its property portfolio.
St Francis Group established
In 2007 St Francis Group was established first to manage the family’s property portfolio, but further expanded to form joint venture partnerships and develop prestigious sites, such as a Opus Blueprint – a 450,000 sq. ft industrial unit sold to Lidl, Cransley Park, Kettering – conversion of a 22-acre brownfield site in partnership with Richardson Capital, to create five quality industrial units, from 25,000 to 100,00 sq. ft.
DSM Demolition and St Francis Group are sold
DSM Demolition and St Francis Group are sold to a management buyout. The family retains thirty-six sites, former industrial sites ranging from 2 – 375 acres, under the Corbally Group banner.
Cilldara Group is established
Cilldara Group is established, with a view to purchasing new sites under the new name. The company continues to expand and enhance its property portfolio with further acquisitions, including the demolition and remediation of a highly contaminated chemical factory in Liverpool; two former landfill sites in Essex and Tividale in Sandwell; and Baglan Bay, a former power station in Port Talbot. Together with strategic greenfield land opportunities such as seventy acres at Manor Farm, Wythall.
